The main task of Vinnumiðlun ungs fólks (VUF) is to assist young people of Reykjavik in the age of 16-25 who are looking for a job. VUF is an governmental organization, run by the municipality of Reykjavik.

Until 2004 its main purpose was to employ young people in summerjobs for the Reykjavik municipality. We also had the responsibility to suggest to take some action if there was a high unemployment rate among young people over the summertime.

In the year 2004 it was agreed by the city council to change the agency and here after it will be open all year around. Among the things that the new job agency will work on is helping young people to find jobs and to do some research in this field.
