FESTIVAL OF THE SEA THIS WEEKEND AND A BIRD-WATCHING TOUR ON TUESDAY

Festival of the Sea takes place in Reykjavik this weekend and Viðey looks forward to take part in the celebration. The festival is an annual event featuring lots of fun for the whole family, and serves as a reminder of how important the sea and it´s sailors are to Iceland´s history. A perfect opportunity to jump aboard one of our boats at either Skarfabakki or The Old Harbour and enjoy sailing to Viðey Island.

On Tuesday June 8th we take on the first of our weekly Tuesday walks in Viðey. In this first tour we go birdwatcing with an known ornithologist and bird photographer Jóhann Óli Hilmarsson. Jóhann Óli wrote the best selling book "Icelandic bird guide" and recently published a book on the Atlantic Puffin.

Tuesdays are our long days in Viðey. We add two extra trips to our schedule at 18:15 and 19:15. This makes it possible for our guests to enjoy a lovely dinner at our reaurant in Viðeyjarstofa, have a pleasant walk around the Island, and enjoy some delightful refreshments afterwards in the beautiful evening sun.

The guided tour is free of charge. Roundtrip to Viðey isk.1000.- for adults.
