WOMENS MARATHON JUNE 19TH AND VIÐEY FESTIVAL ON JUNE 20TH

Summer in ViðeyThe Womens Marathon will take place all over Iceland next Saturday and Viðey is no exception. We expect women of all ages wearing the wonderful orange T-Shirts of the Marathon to come to Viðey and take part in this event. Registration and T-Shirts are available in the ticket sales booth at Skarfabakki on Saturday. Warm up starts at 12:30 and the Marathon (3 km) itself at 13:00.


Sunday will be full of excitement as we celebrate our annual Viðey Festival. It is a day for the whole family to come together and play games and enjoy the endless entertainment and fun in Viðey.

PROGRAM:

11:30-17:30 Viðeyjarstofa café is open
12:00-14:00 Make your own message in a bottle and sent it out to the Atlantic. By Viðeyjarnaust.
13:00-15:30 The children get to go riding on Icelandic horses. By Viðeyjarnaust
13:00-16:00 Open house at the old watertank in the village, restored by former residents in Viðey
14:00 Mass at Viðey church
15:00 Outdoor games and fun on playground
15:45 Björgvin Franz og Jói G. ententain the young ones by Viðeyjarstofa
16:00 Members from the Icelandic wrestling club Ármann show Icelandic wrestling by Viðeyjarstofa.
