ADVENTURES OF THE SETTLERS AND A RECORD IN KITE FLYING ON JULY 10TH AND 11TH

Kite Making in Viðey

Next weekend will be filled wit activities in Viðey.

On Saturday, July 10th, the boy-scout group Landnemar (The settlers) will lead an inspiring program for the whole family. The Scouts will raise a little Settlers village and guests are invited to take part in doing so. Thi is a perfect opportunity for the whole family to learn the ways of the Settlers, - how to make a shelter, how to start a fire and so on. The program is open for all and free of charge.

On Sunday we hope to set a record in kite flying in Viðey. Kite making has become an unseperable part of our summer activities in Viðey and lots of beautiful kites have been produced and flown on the island. The kite making starts at around 11:30 in Viðey and the time of launch is 14:30. It´s free of charge and open for all. We also dare all proud kite-owners to bring their kite to Viðey and take part in setting an Icelandic record in kites.

The Café in Viðeyjarstofa is open from 11:30 till 17:00 and serves various lovely dishes.

First departure from Skarfabakki is at 11:15 and then there are hourly trips fifteen past the hour till 17:15.

Fee for adults isk.1000.-, for children up to 18 isk.500.-, free admission for 6 years old and younger.
