THIS WEEKS TUESDAY WALK - MEET THE UNKNOWN
The weekly walk on Tuesday July 27th will be led by Guðlaug Elísabet Ólafsdottir, Project Manager of Viðey. The island is filled with old sagas and mysterious tales from the past and they will all be revealed on Tuesday. A true challenge for the curious and courageous.
Viðey island is only but a few minutes away from down-town Reykjavik. On a sunny day, when all the down-town Cafés and Restaurants ar fully booked, Viðey is the perfect place to go. It takes about 4 minutes to get to Skarfabakki by car, and there is ample free parking. Sailing to Viðey takes less then 10 minutes and the beautiful island welcomes you, all green in it´s wonderful summer costume. The menu in Viðeyjarstofa Café is designed by Friðgeir Ingi Eiríksson, Chef at Gallery Holt and Viðeyjarstofa. You will find delicatessen that bring water to you mouth and a good selection of beverages. Visiting Viðey is ideal for co-workers, families and friends who want to have a nice lunch together in beautiful surroundings.
Hourly schedule from Skarfabakki starts at 11:15 in the morning, till 17:15. The boat goes back half past the hour, from 12:30 till 18:30.
Ferry fee is isk.1.000.- for adults, isk.500.- for children 7-18. No fee for the youngest ones. Every day in the summer the special offer "Waffles and Viðey" is available at our ticket sales office.
