About the preschool
Nóaborg Preschool is a four-division preschool that opened in December 1986. About 74 children are at the preschool at any given time. The divisions for younger children are Spóaholt and Lóuholt, while Krummaholt and Kríuholt are for older children. The preschool is located on the edge of Miðborg and Hlíðahverfi, just above Hlemmur, making it easy to travel in all directions, whether by foot or by bus.

Philosophy
Nóaborg Preschool follows the Reykjavík City Education Policy and the National Preschool Curriculum. At the preschool, children learn through play with literacy and math, and the preschool also emphasizes social skills. The children's phonological awareness is developed using Lubbi's study materials. The preschool is currently taking part in a two-year Nordplus project on physical activity among preschool children, along with participants from Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Latvia and Lithuania. Movement days have become a regular part of the preschool's winter months, both indoors and outdoors. The project has increased the number of these days, and there are now several each month.
A project manager for the arts oversees a weekly art corner for all the children at the preschool, where they take part in a wide variety of art activities. Nóaborg Preschool holds Reykjavík City's Rainbow Certification.

Parent cooperation
We are all in this together, and as the proverb goes it takes a village to raise a child. Reykjavík City preschools make targeted efforts to consult with and increase parent involvement in early childhood education.
All Reykjavík City preschools have parent associations and parent councils.
Support services
Reykjavík City employs a team of professionals who provide school support services for preschools and primary schools, counseling on child care and recreational activities, welfare services, and other specialized counseling and services needed to help all children actively participate in Reykjavík City's school and recreational activities and make their dreams come true.
Child prosperity
The new Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties.
Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a prosperity liaison in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The prosperity liaison offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services.
Children, young people, and guardians can reach the school prosperity liaison to request integrated services.
